PyHires is a commercial brand and platform operated by Acelestre, S.L.U.
2. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small files that websites may store on your device when you visit them. They can be used for different purposes, including enabling essential functionality, remembering preferences, analysing website usage or delivering personalised advertising.
PyHires aims to minimise the use of cookies and similar technologies.
3. How PyHires Uses Cookies
PyHires does not currently use cookies for advertising, behavioural tracking or third-party analytics.
We do not use cookies to create advertising profiles or to sell or share browsing activity for advertising purposes.
The cookies PyHires sets are first-party technical cookies, listed in Section 5. They are limited to what is necessary to operate, secure and provide the platform.
The one exception is a first-party measurement of how visitors arrive on PyHires, which is off unless you accept it in the cookie banner. It is described in Section 6.
4. Local Storage
PyHires uses your browser's local storage (localStorage) to remember a few interface preferences and your answer to the cookie banner:
| Key | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
theme | Remembers your light or dark theme preference. | Until you clear your browser storage |
ph_remember_email | Remembers your email address on the sign-in form, only if you tick “Remember email”. | Until you sign in with “Remember email” unticked, or until you clear your browser storage |
ph_remember_email_enabled | Remembers that you ticked “Remember email”. | Until you sign in with “Remember email” unticked, or until you clear your browser storage |
ph-measurement-consent | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected measurement (Section 6), so the cookie banner is not displayed repeatedly. | Until you change your choice or clear your browser storage |
Local storage is different from cookies. It stores information directly in the browser and is not, by itself, a mechanism for sending information to PyHires. These entries remain in your browser until they are removed by PyHires according to their functionality or until you clear your browser storage.
This storage is used to improve the user experience and is not used for advertising. The storage used for measurement is listed separately in Section 6.
5. Essential Technologies
PyHires uses strictly necessary technical mechanisms required for the operation and security of the platform, associated with:
- user authentication and session management;
- security and abuse prevention;
- maintaining the integrity of the platform; and
- essential technical functionality.
These are the cookies PyHires sets:
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
authjs.session-token | Keeps you signed in. | 7 days |
authjs.csrf-token | Protects sign-in forms against cross-site request forgery. | Session |
authjs.callback-url | Remembers which page to return to after signing in. | Session |
authjs.pkce.code_verifier | Secures sign-in with Google or GitHub. | Up to 15 minutes |
pending_oauth_user_type | Remembers whether you are signing up as a candidate or company during sign-in with Google or GitHub. | 5 minutes |
pending_oauth_language | Remembers the language of the page you started a Google or GitHub sign-in from, so your new account gets it. | 5 minutes |
pending_language_choice | Remembers the language you picked while signed out, so it is saved on your account when you sign in. | 30 days, or until you sign in |
pyh_signed_out | Records when you signed out, so a session from before that moment cannot be reopened by mistake. | 7 days |
NEXT_LOCALE | Remembers the language you chose for the site. | 1 year |
On the live site the sign-in cookies carry a __Secure- or __Host- prefix, which tells the browser to send them only over HTTPS.
These technologies are used only where necessary to provide the requested service and are not used for advertising purposes.
The specific technologies used by PyHires may change as the platform evolves. When they do, we update this policy.
6. Measurement
We want to know which channels bring people to PyHires (for example, a link in a post or a newsletter), so we can decide where to spend our time. For that, and only if you click “Accept” in the cookie banner, PyHires remembers how you arrived:
- the campaign tags in the address of your first page (
utm_*), if any; - the website that linked to PyHires, as an address without any query string (nothing is kept if you came from PyHires itself or typed the address); and
- the path of the first page you opened (for example, /jobs), without its query string.
This is kept in your browser only while the tab is open. If you create an account in that visit, the same information is saved with your account, to count sign-ups by channel, and is removed if you delete the account. Nothing is sent to analytics or advertising services or to any other third party, and it is not used to follow you across websites or to build a profile of you.
If you click “Reject”, nothing is recorded and your sign-up carries no such information. Until you answer, the entry page is held only in the memory of the page and is not stored. Rejecting does not limit what you can do on PyHires.
You can change your mind at any time:
What is stored for measurement:
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
pyh_attribution (sessionStorage) | Holds how you arrived on PyHires during this visit: the campaign tags of the first page (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term, utm_content), the website that linked to it (address without query string) and the path of the first page. | Until you close the tab |
pending_oauth_attribution (cookie) | Carries the same information through a Google or GitHub sign-up, which leaves the page before your account exists. Written only right before that sign-in and only if you accepted. | 5 minutes |
7. Third-Party Services
PyHires relies on third-party technology providers to operate parts of the platform, such as hosting, infrastructure, security, email delivery or payment processing.
If you choose to sign in with Google or GitHub, that provider handles your sign-in on its own pages and may set its own cookies there, under its own policies.
Payments and subscription management take place on pages hosted by our payment provider, which may set its own cookies on its own domain when you reach those pages. Those cookies are governed by the provider's own policies.
PyHires does not use third-party advertising or behavioural tracking cookies.
Where applicable, third-party processing is also described in the Privacy Policy.
8. Managing Cookies and Browser Storage
You can control or delete cookies and other browser storage through your browser settings.
Most browsers allow you to:
- view stored cookies;
- delete cookies;
- block cookies;
- restrict cookies from particular websites; or
- configure settings for future browsing sessions.
Disabling strictly necessary technologies may affect the availability or functionality of some parts of PyHires. In particular, you will not be able to stay signed in.
Because browser settings differ between browsers and devices, you should consult the relevant browser's documentation for instructions.
9. Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when necessary to reflect changes to the technologies used by PyHires, the platform or applicable legal requirements.
When appropriate, material changes will be communicated through the website or other suitable means.
